Komplikacije

  • odabir podbratka (antialergijski, bez nikla, odgovarajućeg oblika)
  • higijena podbratka
  • korištenje medicinskih krema (antibiotik, kortikosteroid..) uz obavezno konzultiranje dermatologa.

Zaštita i njega

No, većina nas smo  negdje između ovih dvaju krajnosti. Balzam je vrlo mastan, no zbog prirodnih hranjivih i antibakterijskih svojstava sastojaka NE uzrokuje pojavu prištića. Upravo suprotno, sprječava iritaciju kože trenjem, hrani ju i sprječava infekcije.

Violin hickey

One of the most famous signs of recognizing a violinist is that dark spot on the neck that we like to call a “violin hickey”. It is the result of friction between the skin of the neck and the chin rest. The intensity of the injury is influenced by several factors – if the chin rest is properly selected and hygiene is regularly maintained, violin hold is correct and relaxed, and the skin is not too sensitive, then there are almost no consequences of playing in this segment. Yes, there really are lucky ones among us who have no trace on the neck no matter how much they practice, except for a possible light redness for short.

Complications

However, there is another extreme, which sometimes even includes the surgery of the cyst which occurs at the contact point. Skin infections are very common because the warm, sweaty surface of the chin rest is very suitable for the development of bacteria. In such difficult cases, it is imperative to carefully consider all the elements of this story

  • selection of the chin rest (antiallergic, nickel-free, appropriate shape)
  • hygiene of the chin rest
  • body posture and the elemental technique
  • using some chin rest accessories (gel, cotton or foam pads, etc.)
  • use of medical creams (antibiotics, corticosteroids, etc.) with necessary consultation of the dermatologist.

Protection and Care

But most of us are somewhere between these two extremes. In addition to the above-mentioned most important things to consider (chin rest shape, hygiene, posture), there is something else that can help significantly to protect and care about this sensitive skin area. It is a completely natural balm that is very simple and cheap to make at home and is suitable for all skin types. The balm is greasy, but because of the natural nutrients and antibacterial properties of the ingredients, it does not cause the appearance of pimples. Exactly the opposite, it prevents skin irritation caused by friction, nourishes it, and prevents infections. It can be used before and after practice. A very small amount is needed, as when we apply lip balm.

(This balm is also suitable for the care of the lips, face, and skin of the whole body, and it is especially recommended for the extremely dry skin of the body during the winter months)
