Violin Game Deck – free for teachers

Every teacher knows the moment: the child is tired, attention drops and there are still fifteen minutes left. Good violin lesson games aren’t “fun instead of work” – they are work in a form children accept. So we put the games from Growing Violinists into a free app you can open in any lesson.

What’s in the Violin Game Deck

  • 38 games and exercises for beginners, tested in real lessons
  • teaching areas: holding, left hand, ear, bow, musicality and reading
  • draw a game – out of ideas? The app suggests one for today’s lesson
  • “What’s going wrong?” – common beginner mistakes, how to spot them and which games help

Why games work in violin lessons

A game has a clear rule and a short goal, so the child repeats the same movement many times – without feeling they are “practising”. That is how posture, a relaxed hand and a good ear are built. For the teacher, a game gives structure: you know what you are doing, why, and for how long.

Example: mistake → game

If a student squeezes the thumb on the bow, What’s going wrong? describes the problem, why it happens and which games bring back a relaxed hold. The same goes for a stiff wrist, a collapsed elbow or wandering intonation.
