About the Author
MA Ines Ana Tomić, advisor professor, is a music educator with over 25 years of experience. She has received numerous awards for her work, including three “Oskar znanja” (Knowledge Oscars) and the annual award from the Croatian Association of Music and Dance Educators.
Her students have won more than 120 prizes at national and international competitions, and in addition to performing at numerous concerts, they regularly appear on Croatian Television programs. A significant number of her students have studied or graduated from music academies in Croatia and around the world (Yale, Texas, Berlin, Vienna), and some have already become established and respected musicians.
She is a member of competition juries and a mentor to university students and trainee teachers. She has given over 100 lectures at international congresses and professional gatherings in Croatia, and for the past 15 years, she has held masterclasses for students and teachers, as well as seminars in music schools, several times a year.
She is the author of Violina 1, 2, and 3 (Školska knjiga 2008, 2018, 2021, 2023), the highly popular violin teaching manual Exercises and Scales for Violin Positions, and The Pizzicato Method – a series of seven books of methodological and didactic materials in English. She has also written numerous professional and popular articles on music pedagogy.
She is the mother of two children.
